Dental Charges

NHS charges are standard, please ask at reception if you require more information. You will be provided with a treatment plan estimate following your initial appointment.

Appointments

Please try to give at least 24 hours notice should you need to cancel or change your appointment.

Opening Times

Please take a practice leaflet, or ask at reception.

Medication

It is very important to tell your dentist which medication you are taking. We will ask you to fill in a medical history update annually, but if there are any changes in the meantime please remember to let your dentist know.

Emergencies

Emergency appointments are fitted in around regularly scheduled appointments. Please call the practice as early in the day as possible to be allocated an emergency appointment time.

Confidentiality

Our staff will maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Please help us to do so by understanding that we cannot discuss other people’s treatment with you.

Only ask about your own treatment plan, or those to whom you are a guardian. Please do not be offended that we cannot answer questions regarding your family or friends – the Data Protection Act precludes us from doing so.

 

Chaperones

Wherever possible a nurse will be present throughout your appointment.  As well as assisting your dentist, their purpose is to ensure that the appointment is carried out in an appropriate way.

You are also welcome to bring a family member or friend into the surgery if this makes you feel more comfortable.

Under 16’s must always be accompanied by an adult.

Abusive Behaviour

The practice does not tolerate acts of an abusive, threatening, racist or sexist nature towards staff.

Under our NHS contract we are able to refuse further treatment to any patients who act in this way.

 

New Patients

We are accepting new NHS patients. Waiting time for a new patient appointment is approximately 1-2 weeks. Emergency appointments may be available where time allows, however this is not guaranteed for new patients. Please ask at reception.

Payment

We are only able to accept cash or cheque payment. We do not take debit or credit cards.

Exemptions

If you have an exemption from NHS dental charges you must show proof of exemption to reception at the start of each new course of treatment.

Parents

Please note that children should be supervised at all times. We thank you for your assistance in this matter.
